Inerting Valves

Tank Blanketing is a process used to maintain a gas blanket in a vapour space of a pressure- tight liquid storage vessel. Gas Blanketing is used to reduce fugitive emissions, eliminate combustion potential an or avoid product contamination. This process is usually accomplished using a high pressure gas source and a valve using a single stage reduction to mbarg. The design of the valve is such as to eliminate the risk of collapsing of the vessel due to pump out or atmospheric cooling.

This process is also used in conjunction with Pressure/Vacuum Releif Valves (Conservation Vents) and the overall system is usually sized using the API 2000 method.
