Deflagration

Deflagration Arresters prevent flashback if a deflagration occurs in a pipe. The application of Deflagration Arresters is limited. The pipe length between arrester and ignition source must not exceed 20 times the diameter. For a pipe length exceeding this L/D ratio detonation arresters must be used.

Detonation

Detonation Arresters prevent flashback if volume explosions, atmospheric deflagrations, deflagrations or detonations occur. Detonation arresters must be specifically designed when long pipe runs occur between the arrester and the ignition source.

End of Line

End of Line Endurance Burning Arresters prevent flashback when endurance burning occurs. This type of arrester is generally end of line on Solvent Storage Tanks or fitted to Pressure / Vacuum Relief Valves as an end of line device.
